Learning from the Best: My Wax Training with Rebel Wax; Bree Mesquit

I’ll be honest—waxing has never been my favorite part of esthetics. But part of being a professional (and a business owner) is stepping outside of your comfort zone, and that’s exactly what I did when I trained with Rebel Wax and the incredible Bree Mesquit.

Who is Bree Mesquit? Bree is the founder of Rebel Wax and the CEO of Lash & Wax OC. She has over a decade of experience in the industry and has built a seven-figure waxing business from the ground up. She’s known for her efficiency (she can do a Brazilian in as little as 7 minutes!) and for creating a wax brand that blends performance with client comfort. More than that, Bree has a passion for teaching estheticians how to level up—and she does it in a way that’s approachable, real, and inspiring.

What I Learned: Even though waxing isn’t my favorite service to provide, I walked away from Bree’s training with skills and insights that are invaluable: How to wax faster and more efficiently without compromising results. Techniques that reduce discomfort for clients and make the whole experience more positive. A deeper understanding of Rebel Wax products and why the right formula makes such a difference.

Why It Matters: What stood out most to me is that Bree wasn’t just teaching waxing; she was teaching confidence. She reminded me that every service we offer as estheticians has the power to transform how someone feels about themselves. And that’s why I’m grateful I pushed myself to take this training. Even if waxing isn’t what lights me up the most, I now have tools to make it smoother, quicker, and more comfortable for the people who trust me with their self-care.

The Bigger Picture: Sometimes growth means diving into areas we don’t naturally gravitate toward. This training reminded me that even outside of my comfort zone, I can still learn, grow, and bring more value to my clients. And who knows—maybe waxing will grow on me more now that I’ve seen it through Bree’s lens.
